Coast Salish Journey is a group of First Nation Coast Salish artists and artisans who have come together largely because of their commitment to the creation of unique Quality Commissions for their customers. The founder is Herb Rice.
Herbert Joseph Rice is a Coast Salish artist located in beautiful Cowichan Bay, BC, Canada on Vancouver Island. He is a master wood carver whose work includes traditional as well as more contemporary pieces. His work varies in size from bowls to totem poles and has been commissioned by private collectors all over Europe and North America. His studio is located in The Maritime Centre in Cowichan Bay.Jennifer George comes from a family that has always been involved, in the making, and marketing of Cowichan Indian Sweaters. We have a number of knitters to call upon. Each knitter has his or her favorite design, or specialty, which lends to quality merchandise. Let us help to keep you warm in the coldest of times.
Trained in the traditional Cowichan knitting, she does beautiful sweaters, vests, hats, mitts, and socks to order.
Charles Rice is a fine cabinet maker. He has recently been making digeridoos that have been sold around Vancouver Island.
