Eagle Landing on Stone
with Salmon/Ovoid Base
by Herb Rice

Eagle Landing on Stone with Salmon/Ovoid Base is a 21"h X 10"w X 8"deep corner table totem carved in pine.   Many aspects of this carving are based on Coastal Salish traditional artistic concepts.

The eagle represents freedom and vision.   First one must establish freedom for the individual before it can be shared with others.

The salmon represents fertility.   In Coast Salish tradition the bones of the fish must be returned to the river the fish came from.

This corner table totem and the interpretation are the creation of the artist Herb Rice.
